SnowLabs

SnowLabs uses an IMU and series of pressure sensors linked to neural network which analyses your technique to provide personalised feedback via an app. All of this technology is contained in just 4.3mm secured beneath your bindings. Even better – it’s compatible with any snowboard and binding! Literally, a snowboard coach at your feet!

SnowLabs consists of 2 sensor plates located underneath both the left and right snowboard binding. Located within each plate are 2 force sensitive resistors at the heel and toe of the foot. Additionally, there is a 6 axis inertial measurement unit logging rotational and acceleration vectors. This configuration of sensors samples at 100Hz to gather reliable data. The plates link via bluetooth to the user’s phone, transmitting this data to a server which classifies turns through the use of a neural network and analyses the user’s performance sending personalised feedback which the user can access through the app.


This feedback is not only personalised to the boarder but is also tailored to their ability level, ensuring they are able to fully assimilate and action the feedback. Users can access quick tips for when they are on chairlift or taking a break, detailed review at the end of the day or audio cues whilst on the slopes. These insights come in a range of formats; written, photo and video tutorials from snowboard instructors.
