Long-Term Health Issues in Firefighters
Firefighters face dangers beyond the immediate threat of fire. Long-term exposure to carcinogenic particulates from fires puts firefighters at risk of various cancers. Fire engine cabs are hotspots for these contaminants – which are brought in through equipment, clothing and smoke.
Safely back at the station when PPE is removed, the danger still lingers unseen on surfaces throughout the vehicle. It is difficult to clean something you can’t see, firefigher’s can never be sure a surface is safe to touch.
CAB-VAC
This is where CAB-VAC can help. As a vacuum cleaner designed specifically for the fire service, it detects, cleans and safely contains particulates.

Detection Technology
A highly sensitive VOC detection system within the air-flow chamber reads live contamination levels to the operator, ensuring all contaminated surfaces are detected and cleaned.
Secure Containment
Contaminants are sealed in a hazardous waste bag within the removable contamination pod – to be disposed of safely, with no way of re-opening once removed from the device.
A chemical manufacturing inspired split butterfly valve, is used to prevent any accidental contaminant leaks.
