“Sculpture always exists in relation to the space around it.”
Felix Schramm
Process is pivotal in my work. Taking inspiration from the motivations of the key figures in the Dansaekhwa movement, I undertake repeated, labour-intensive actions to compose the sculptural work. This act of making becomes a key component in the work’s meaning and intention; inseparable from the exhibited structure.

A relationship is formed between the strength and permanence of the industrial metal and the suggested instability caused by manual acts of manipulation. The rigid grid structure is continually disrupted and reinstated into interlocking, chain-like structures.
The structures are held together solely through tension formed through the laborious actions.
