I am a structural textiles specialist exploring innovative and sustainable applications of weave and knit. Combining creative colour with technical understanding of form and structure, I develop textiles that balance functionality, craftsmanship, and visual impact through material experimentation.

Final Major Project: ‘Codes of Culture’

‘Codes of Culture’ is a structural woven and knit collection that investigates the performance of structure through textile construction. The project examines wool as a technical fibre, exploring how different wool types behave and how they can be embedded as a sustainable material. Drawing on personal heritage and experiences of growing up in Lancashire, the collection explores family history through weaving and lived experiences within industrial textile mills, translating these narratives into colour, form, and structure. The contextual and visual research references historic outerwear, alongside theories of form and colour, examining how these elements can function as both practical and experimental material expressions through visual collage.
