My practice focuses on the dispersing of Chinese Poems into an abstract landscape that reflects my inner emotions. Expressing my feelings and emotions has never been my strong suit, and I found drawing and painting to be the solution. Each mark I make helps me achieve catharsis, the releasing of bottled emotions, and eventually the paintings evolved into abstract landscapes reflecting my inner world.
Dispersed with water, the boundaries between the word and the painting become even more blurred. Layers of ink and water are applied meticulously onto paper, where mountain ranges and hills start to take shape. The resulting image is an abstract landscape of the mind, and the subject matter represent feelings of inner peace and me coming to terms with those lingering emotions.
