TORQLINE is a modular automotive cleaning system designed to combine precision, adaptability, and professional performance within a compact handheld product. The brand focuses on creating intuitive and durable tools that simplify automotive detailing while maintaining a premium engineered aesthetic.

The product development process began with extensive research into automotive detailing workflows, existing cleaning tools, and user pain points. Iterative sketching, CAD modelling, teardown analysis, and mechanism exploration were used to refine the ergonomics, internal layout, and attachment system. Multiple prototypes were produced to test tolerances, usability, and manufacturability, particularly focusing on the bayonet coupling mechanism. User testing and DFM analysis then informed further refinements, resulting in a commercially realistic modular automotive cleaning power tool designed for portability, efficiency, and professional-level usability.
The bayonet attachment mechanism was developed to provide a fast, secure, and intuitive method of swapping cleaning accessories during use. Inspired by professional camera lens couplings and industrial quick-release systems, the mechanism uses a rotational locking motion combined with a spring-loaded retention feature to achieve strong torsional resistance while maintaining quick one-handed operation.


As part of a team project, we designed and developed a remote-controlled fire suppression robot capable of navigating obstacles and extinguishing flames. My contribution focused on the development, testing and refinement of the mechanical and electronic systems, combining CAD design, prototyping and problem-solving throughout the project.


Between my Second and Third years I completed a year in industry at Nissan Technical Centre Europe. There I worked as a Development Quality Engineer, identifying and solving market quality issues. My primary function was leading quality resolution relating to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
During the year, outside of my work responsibilities, I looked at developing my skills in automotive styling. I did this by designing the aesthetics for a new two seater sports car based on an existing platform. I focused on combining brand heritage with modern styling, in particular the use of headlights as a key identification feature. This is a skill I would like to continue developing.
