I am an aspiring creative artist and designer with a love for everything music, politics, film and television. Taking inspiration from both my rural and urban roots, I constantly find ways to gain new outlooks that inspire my original designs.

SKATE GREEN

REWILDING THE SKATE SCENE

This project reflects my passion for skating but also combines my love for protecting the environment and repurposing and maintaining spaces to be more environmentally friendly. It acts as both a campaign but also a service of education and a way to propose new and fresh ideas. Reinventing the spaces we already have rather than expanding and destroying more of nature.

My project concluded in many formats. The two most refined however were my campaign posters and my webpage designs.

ESTABLISHING MY PROJECT AND ITS THEMES

The project’s visuals aim to capture aspects related to the natural world, skating and graphic design. Whilst on the surface they seem quite estranged and separated, there is a surprising amount of unity and overlap.

The main themes I aimed to convey were: The ability to adapt to your surroundings, growth, movement, individuality and self-expression.

SKATE PARK AND BOARD PHOTOGRAPHY

A lot of the foundations of this project came from documenting the world around me both at the skate park and in the natural world.

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing and taking natural prints using ink and playdoh. These aggregated into my final compositions after undergoing many iterative cycles. The typography is built off of existing fonts with adjustments and developments added to correlate better meaning and visual cohesion.

My first page summaries what the campaign group is about. Introducing its core values, the faces behind the business and more.

The second discussed more about the impact they have had. Projects that the group has taken on, information about their practices and allowing for more future insight of the group.
