Jude’s practice consists of drawings and paintings that overall form a self-portrait, displaying his purest interests, hobbies and relationships. Whilst deeply personal, the work remains welcoming to the viewer through its wholesome nature.
My journey as an artist has always been driven by my desire to create artworks about my most passionate interests. Drawing and painting techniques allow me to produce portraits and capture moments that represent the most important parts of my life.
I love to create work that I would truly want to buy and own myself, and have always appreciated the quest for representation and accuracy in the wider art scene. This, combined with the thematic exploration of personal interests, forms my absolute favourite style of artwork.
During my third year on the course, I was given the opportunity to live in Spain for an academic year, studying Fine Art at the University of Zaragoza – Teruel campus. I was privileged to take part in weekly life-drawing classes, landscape drawing sessions in nature, and technical workshops that deepened my understanding of the media which I employ most.
It is safe to say that this year changed my life completely, allowing me to grow vastly as both an artist and a person in general, and I will be forever grateful for these opportunities which the Fine Art course has given me.
