My textile practice explores the relationship between nature, wellbeing, and interior spaces, inspired by my personal connection to the Kent countryside and a growing awareness of disconnection from the natural world. Through hand painting, weaving, and natural dyeing, I translate the sensory and spatial qualities of landscape into tactile textiles that encourage calm, comfort, and connection.
Influenced by Prospect Refuge Theory, my work investigates how natural forms, layered textures, and open compositions can create harmonious interior environments that support wellbeing. My visual research combines personal photography of the Kent landscape with paintings by my grandmother, exploring generational relationships with nature, sensory memory, and sense of place.
Using wool, cotton, linen, and natural dyes, I create sustainable textile surfaces inspired by autumnal landscapes and organic textures. Applied within contemporary barn interiors, my textiles aim to reconnect people with nature by bringing warmth, refuge, and biophilic experiences into modern living spaces.
