Design context & brief

Current protocols for insulin dependents reply on manual glucose monitoring and ore-dive carbohydrate loading. This is prone to human error physiological unpredictability under pressure. Hypoglycaemic emergency underwater display similar symptoms to dive related conditions experienced underwater. This presents a critical mortality risk, for example loss of consciousness leading to drowning.

There is an opportunity to utilise a closed-loop system using accurate technology to create an automated artificial pancreas to safely manage blood glucose levels in an insulin dependant.
