Animal shelters are in the midst of a cat crisis, with charities turning cats away due to a lack of space.

From 1 May 2026, under the Renters’ Right Act, landlords can no longer unreasonably refuse a tenant’s request to own a pet. However, awareness of this change has only reached existing tenants.

‘Cats with Rights’ is a speculative campaign by Cats Protection that repurposes a cat’s most loved object, a cardboard box, to inform first-time renters of this change in law, placed right outside estate agencies and beyond. The campaign challenges the long-held assumption that pets aren’t allowed, encouraging new renters to adopt.

Pick Up the Slack, Donate Blood

Self-initiated Campaign

The NHS is in urgent need of more life-saving blood donors from all backgrounds, with a particular shortage of O-negative and B-negative blood. Right now, donations among 17–24 years have plummeted compared to recent years, and the majority don’t even know their own blood type.

“Pick Up the Slack, Donate Blood” is a campaign aimed at normalising blood donation among undergraduate students. During term time, students are challenged to ask themselves, “Who bloody are you?” to discover their blood group and understand which types are in constant demand.

Pop-up donation units across the university provide a quick and convenient way of giving blood. Turning a student’s curiosity about their blood type into a bloody good contribution.
