Duolingo word

Duolingo word was designed as an extension of the existing app to tackle declining literacy abilities in the UK. It is designed for families, encouraging literacy as a shared family experience rather than an individual challenge. This was a collaborative project where my pair designed the advertising and campaign strategy and I focused on the app appearance.
Duolingo word includes a parent literacy pathway, progress tracking, child homework helper, and a shared family dashboard. The platform creates a motivating, non-judgemental experience that helps parents improve literacy while supporting their children’s education and long term learning.

The home page ‘Family Nest’ is a shared family dashboard, acting as the central hub for families shared activity.

Borrowed bandwidth, Giffgaff x Big Issue

A response to the Giffgaff x Big Issue DnAD brief, asking for design solutions to improve pathways out of poverty. Borrowed bandwidth is a regenerative connection system. With Giffgaff, members can share their unused data with Big Issue who then distributes it across to their vendors at the end of each month. Turning unused data into real connection that makes a difference and increases opportunities.
