Trygg – Dialysis that moves with you, made for you

In Automated Peritoneal Dialysis, patients sleep connected to a machine through a fluid tube for over 8 hours. During the night, turning in bed can pull, twist, or kink the tube, triggering alarms and disrupting sleep. This not only affects rest, but can also make the following treatment steps more stressful and increase the risk of handling mistakes. During the day, excess tubing can also become obstructed during everyday movement.

Trygg responds by making the tubing adaptive to the patient’s movement. The tube extends when the patient moves away and retracts when they move closer, reducing fiddly handling, pulling, and restriction. With integrated storage and a furniture-like appearance, Trygg makes dialysis feel calmer, safer, and more natural at home

The first dialysis product with adaptive tubing that moves when you do

The system integrates three core functions: Tube movement support, storage, and fluid transport.

Adaptive Tube Module Mechanism

When there are no extra tubing left but user still want go far, tighten tube pressing the groove wheel, it trigger the sping counter clockwise rotate to release more tube, when user get closer, tube got loose, groove wheel do not detect trigger pressure anymore, and start clockwise rotate to get more tubing in, until tube in the range

The grooved wheel is spring-loaded and transfers pressure through a contact block to the force sensor. The sensor sends a signal to the gear motor, which drives the gear system and rotates the spool.

Fluid Cart

When dialysis ends, the clean fluid has been transferred into waste fluid. The heavy waste container can be placed on top of the trolley for easier movement, while the modular metal rod structure allows the cart to be customised for different medical regulations across countries.

Supply Storage

The removable storage shelf improves ergonomics with adjustable height and fits compactly within the system. Transparent side panels make it easy to check remaining supplies at a glance.

Tubing Map

Most of the tubing is hidden to reduce user concern and improve the overall emotional feel of the product.

Design for Assembly

An adjustable height column allows the machine to stay within 15 cm of different bed height for optimal positioning.

Multi-directional replaceable castor wheels with a braking system for stable movement and control

Functional Prototype

A sensor-guiding mechanism translates complex pressing forces into a controlled single-direction flat force, improving force detection accuracy and consistency
