The concept of “Lucky Charms” came to me after a ladybug landed on my hand. I wanted this collection to be a mixture of whimsical and playful, yet well structured. Every detail of the garments are considered in extreme detail. Take a closer look and see what you can find…

This look was inspired by magpies and ladybugs, along with the bad luck charm of opening an umbrella indoors. If you look closely you can see the head of a magpie cut out of the leather top, and the embodiment of a ladybug in the skirt and trouser pocket. This look also features a cascade of embroidered ladybugs crawling up the back pocket, and a 3D printed horseshoe and chain.

This look was inspired by the superstition of receiving seven years of bad luck by smashing a mirror. The front panel symbolises a shard of the mirror that has broken off. The pleats and the skirt also gives the effect of the smashed mirror. The back of the denim jacket features a cut out of a four leaf clover to even out the luck.

This look was originally inspired by magpies and shooting stars. As a child I was taught a poem about magpies, along with being taught to salute to them. There is a pearl splat on the shoulder inspired by bird poo, as we are taught it is good luck. Although, I believe we are told this to improve the situation. I always searched for shooting stars growing up, but never saw one. Therefore, I made a look inspired by them so that I could have my own personal shooting star.

A special thank you to my models Gabriela Cebotari, Jessica Koshy and Talia Guixe.
