Arteria

Bringing objective brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) diagnostics to the frontline. Replacing probabilistic risk algorithms with physiological proof of vascular health at the point of care.

Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) testing replaces probabilistic algorithms with objective proof of arterial stiffness, guiding targeted statin prescriptions for high-risk patients. Currently, this diagnostic requires massive, expensive equipment confined to hospitals, creating severe accessibility barriers and 14-week NHS wait times.

Eliminating Workspace Clutter

A dual volume architecture prioritises an unobstructed, angled digital interface while housing a dedicated, lidded storage bay. Bulky diagnostic cuffs, finger PPG, and silicone tubing are fully concealed, maintaining a highly organised GP desk.

Seamless, non-porous enclosures eliminate bio-burden traps for rapid sanitisation, while colour-coded pneumatic bulkheads and high-contrast iconography ensure intuitive, error-free setup.

Streamlined Assembly

Structurally optimised for high volume manufacturing and efficient, top down assembly. By actively consolidating components and simplifying internal layouts, the design reduces production overhead while maintaining rigorous clinical reliability.

Prototpying and sketching

Refning the model – sketch iterations from phase 2

1:1 scale 3D printed models used to evaluate the physical desktop footprint, test the ergonomic viewing angle of the primary display, and verify the accessibility of the integrated storage bay.
