Textiles A.D. (After Disclosure) is an interior design collection that speculates what the future of textile surface may look like in response to real-life alien and UAP stories throughout history.
Creating this collection in 2026 is relevant to sit alongside the contemporary ufology debate in Congress and online, and gives validation to real-life UFO encounters.
My personal goal for the degree show is to share these stories through my collection and create questions for the public to walk away with, regarding the truth about aliens and the government’s role in this worldwide debate.
I first touched on the idea of government censorship by looking at militaria reuse in my dissertation, From Surplus to Studio: Materiality, Militaria, and the Politics of Reuse in Contemporary Art. Since then, my practice has been heavily influenced by intergrating politics and media into textile furnishings.
The collection further explores the use of metallics in commercial settings, using chrome effect, food-safe glazes and blended lurex yarns within woven jacqards.
