I am an abstract artist inspired by music, using expressive, abstract mark-making to capture rhythm and emotion. My layered paintings and energetic gestures create atmospheric works that translate the movement and feeling of sound into immersive visual experiences.

Final Show

My artistic practice centres on exploring the emotional and expressive qualities found within music, a fascination rooted in my early experiences performing in a cathedral choir, where the interplay of harmony and space profoundly shaped my creative perspective. Music weaves itself into our daily routines, shaping our moods and supporting our mental well-being, not always through lyrics, but often through rhythm, tone, and unique vocal delivery. Using my body as the primary instrument, painting with my hands and fingers to capture the rhythm, flow, and emotional tone of each piece. This embodied approach enables me to channel the dynamic energy of live performance directly onto the canvas, allowing the music’s energy and movement to guide my mark-making and gestures.

My Journey

My creative process has evolved through a continual exploration of the profound emotional and sensory connections between music and visual art. While listening to diverse musical compositions, I became acutely aware of how shifts in rhythm, harmony, resonance, and even silence evoke distinct emotional responses, which I seek to translate into gesture, texture, and spatial depth in my paintings and installations. This period of experimentation became an ongoing journey of discovery, with each work offering new possibilities for rendering the invisible architecture of music visible. By layering materials, employing expressive mark-making, and constructing complex surfaces, I have developed a visual language that reflects the nuance, tension, and atmosphere inherent in musical experience. Increasingly fascinated by the potential of abstraction to conjure both chaos and serenity while preserving a deliberate, harmonious aesthetic balance.
