Among Gen Z, cases of haemorrhoids are increasing. Around 50% of Gen Z adults use their phones during visits to the bathroom, and scrolling social media causes some people to get distracted and stay seated for longer than they need to. This increases the risk of haemorrhoids and other bowel problems.
Hot Seat is a mobile app which times users’ visits to the throne and temporarily blocks all social media while users are seated. By making bathroom breaks as boring as possible, Hot Seat aims to improve bowel health in Gen Z and help break the attachment to mobile phones.
