Ventus — a handheld spirometer and heart rate monitor designed for athletes with asthma, enabling more frequent respiratory health checks, precise medication decisions, and smarter training load management.
Exercise challenge testing is the most accurate method for diagnosing exercise-induced asthma, but has historically required multiple devices and clinical supervision to confirm the 80% maximum heart rate threshold and ensure correct protocol. By integrating heart rate monitoring directly into the device and pairing it with a companion app, Ventus automatically validates that the threshold has been met before a challenge reading is initiated, enabling accurate, protocol-compliant EIA testing to be performed independently for the first time.
With 360 million people worldwide living with asthma, and prevalence significantly higher among competitive athletes, affecting up to 70% of elite endurance athletes, the need for frequent and accurate diagnosis has never been greater.










My chosen project focus was UX design, where I translated clinical research and user testing insights into a cohesive, medically-informed interface. I built a comprehensive design system and crafted every screen to meet WCAG AA accessibility standards, ensuring the app is inclusive by design.



Inspired by the clean, minimal packaging of competitors, I designed the Ventus packaging to be both sustainable and premium. Material choices were guided by recyclability, while the structural design ensures an intuitive unboxing experience that reflects the precision and trust the product represents.


The product and its internal spring-loaded mechanism were refined across multiple prototype iterations, with regular user testing informing each stage to ensure the final design is intuitive and comfortable in use.






2nd Place in FSW Live Project Brief
Solen is an at-home food dehydrator designed for the health-conscious home cook. The goal was to create something far more in keeping with the modern kitchen aesthetic than the dated designs currently on the market. The exterior features a lightly speckled finish to mask any build-up that naturally occurs on kitchen appliances, paired with a warmer, more natural colour palette as an alternative to the stark black dehydrators of the past.




This was a project in the final year advanced surfacing module where we had to design product that we would then produce in SOLIDWORKS using surfacing techniques.
