NOMI — Recipe-led food waste support for solo renters
NOMI
NOMI is a mobile app designed for solo renters who struggle with oversized supermarket packs, unclear portions and forgotten leftovers. It supports users from recipe selection to shopping, cooking and next-meal planning.
The problem
Solo renters often buy family-sized packs for single meals, then struggle to remember, measure and reuse what remains. The result is a repeated cycle of overbuying, forgotten ingredients and guilt around waste.
App Flow
Smart shopping list
Portion guidance
leftover reuse
Pick the week’s recipes → NOMI generates the list with cupboard staples auto-filtered. No double-buying rice. Replaces “another grocery app.”
Snap one photo of the ingredient. NOMI suggests grams against WRAP UK solo-portion data, with a Less / Just right /More chip.
NOMI turns remaining ingredients and cooked leftovers into suggested next meals, so food naturally continues into another dish instead of being forgotten or wasted.
