Collective aims to forge meaningful connections while
providing young people with a brighter alternative to a
pessimistic housing market.
For many young people housing feels increasingly out of reach, and despite being more connected than ever, loneliness is still a prevalent issue to this day.
One common hypothesis for a possible increase in loneliness is the prevalence of single-person households today.
Collective aims to address these issues by creating more affordable community-led housing.
This would function through purpose-built community housing developments that revolve around shared spaces, lowering the cost of rent through collaborative responsibilities. Responsibilities may involve maintaining communal spaces, managing waste or assisting the introduction of initiatives such as a solar energy program.
By subsidising some of these responsibilities that a landlord would typically handle, this reduces costs, meaning less of these costs are passed onto residents.

DIS-RUPT would be a creative industries festival
that uses collaborative briefs to build experience,
portfolios and forge connections with others.

Beginning your career is a big life change for many, whether leaving education or moving to a new location for work, people may feel as if they are going through this change alone.
While creative events do exist, many centre around talks, with networking and connection building not necessarily being actively facilitated.
Using collaborative briefs, random teammates can be put together to produce an outcome that would be screened at the event.
Collaborative briefs provide a natural icebreaker for people that may be nervous to reach out while also expanding your network of like-minded creatives.

Course Mate is a cooking tutoring app that aims to provide
tailored-made education that gives users transferable,
foundational skills.

Many people state that their reason for not learning to cook is that they don’t know where to start. Most online cooking resources can make this overwhelming, teaching generalised information or rigid recipes that don’t help people understand how these skills can be used in other contexts.
Course Mate positions itself as a disruptor to the current market, moving away from the literal illustrations and mascot characters of its competitors.
Inspired by radar charts, (charts that show multiple data points, often used to appoint a person’s attributes) Course Mate celebrates people’s differences and learning styles with this interpretive chart icon. By morphing its form to different shapes, differences between individuals can be communicated. This design language is then composed and animated to infer the process of cooking by mimicking actions such as frying and stirring to create and unusual but exciting brand language.

As part of an optional anti-knife crime competition run at
university, I created a snapshot of what a charity
campaign could look like. This led to me being
placed as one of the winners.
As an act inspired by hate and anger, consequences can become blurred and frequency of these attacks can desensitise audiences.
This campaign would speak to the audience directly with a loud visual language in attempt to break through the noise of day-to-day life. Using the 3D rendered domino run as a visual motif provides context to the textual information while communicating the severity of the subject without being insensitive or graphic.
